Salmon and Sea Trout Smolts are now making their way downstream. These fish are very important for the future of fish stocks they are at great risk from predators on the journey to the Sea.
Lets hope that most of them are successful and get there without to much trouble. if you are on the river you will almost certainly see the predator birds which feast on these vital fish Cormorants
and Goosanders are stationed from top to bottom of river.
This is quite a large sea trout smolt which was caught on the river Saturday 20th April it was in fantastic condition hopefully it will return to the river as a mature fish in a year or two.
